首先说下你的第一句have 的后面掉了一个to ,
第一句想表达的意思无非是：星期天人们不用去工作,中国人或者说初学者更喜欢用peoople don't have to go to work on sunday.简单明了,而美国人的习惯是把最重要的信息放在最前面,所以第一句说星期天是一天,哪一天呢?嵌套一个定语从句：是这样的一天：a day when people don't have to go to work 人们不用去上班的这一天.这样表达了是星期天这一天而不是什么其它时候人们不用去上工作.话说回来,说到怎么转化为in/on which的形式,自然是看哪个介词可以和sunday 搭配了,在星期天的搭配是on sunday ,不能用in sunday.所以转化后是:sunday is a day on which people don't have go to work.
同样第二句：we meet at the gate where you can see the panda.应转化为：we meet at the gate in which you can see the panda.理由是：gate 是大门、门口的意思,它前面的介词是用in 或at ,如到达某个地方用arrive in或 arrive at ,如果到达的地点稍大就用in,偏小就用at ,而不能用on,on 是在……上面,如果说要表达一个杯子放在桌子上自然就用on 了.
