i think it's because in the mind of a kid , one of the most important thing is to be agree by others.And being different , means they have to risk the possiblity of being disagree. Thats why most of children dont want to be different, and choose to fit in. The important thing for helping the kid is to lead them knowing themself better , then they will make the more correct dession in their way of growing up.
