关于time 的固定搭配及相应语法
英语中,time不仅表示"时间,时光"的意思,它还与介词搭配,构成介词短语；又可跟动词不定式及其复合结构,还可跟从句构成一些特殊的句型,表示"时间"概念以外的意思.现归纳并介绍如下：
一、 与time搭配的介词短语
⑴ in time 及时,最后,终于
⑵ on time 按时,准时
⑶ at the same time 同时,尽管……但是……
⑷ against time 赶时间,争分夺秒
⑸ ahead of time 提前
⑹ all the time 一直,始终
⑺ by the time 到……时候
⑻ in no time 立刻
⑼ for a time 暂时,短时期（=for the time being）
⑽ from time to time 不时地,偶尔
⑾ many a time 常常,时常
⑿ at all times 无论如何
⒀ at a time 每次
⒁ at one time 曾经,一度
⒂ time after time 多少次,屡次
⒃ make time 腾出时间
⒄ lose no time in doing 不失时机地做某事
二、 与time有关的几个基本句式
⑴ It is time for sb. To do sth
It is time to do sth.
It is time for sb. / sth
It is time that + 从句
这个句型表示"对于某人该干什么了",或"该是……的时候了"意思,比如：
A: It is time for school.
B: It is time to go to school.
C: It is time for you to go to school.
D: It is time that you went to school.
⑵ This is the first/second/third time…表示"这是 / 那是某人第一（二,三）次做某事".如：This is the first time that I have seen English film.
这是我第一次看英文电影
或改成：This is the first time for me to see English film.
⑶ 除时间概念以外,time可用来表示"倍数",常见基本句型有三种：
A: "A is three times as + 形容词原级 + as B"
B: "A is three times + the + 名词（size, length, width, height…）of B"
C: "A is three times + 形容词比较级 + than B"
例如：这个房间是那个房间的4倍,可译成：
This room is four times as big as that one.
或This room is four times the size of that one.
或This room is three times bigger than that one
at the same time: 同时。
it's time to: 是干。。。的时候了。
from time to time：一次又一次的。
in time:及时
