I have this misunderstanding about understanding.For some reason I’ve grown up with the idea that people need to understand what I think and feel.It’s almost like a lust for vindication.St Augustine prayed- O lord deliver me from my lust of always vindicating myself.His prayer resonates in my soul.Why do we feel as though we must explain ourselves:we must get people to understand.I claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ.He never explained anything:He left mistakes to correct themselves.As I sit here this morning pouring over my notes,my novels and His word I find that my lack of understanding doesn’t need to be explained to anyone.
So,I guess I can tell you what I think with the understanding that you may never understand…..and that’s okay.
